CHINESE ARE MAKING DIFFERENT INVESTMENTS IN US

China is now investing in the US just as Japan did in the 80’s.  A lot of the “Big” Investment is coming from SOE’s (State Owned Enterprises), and this investment in generally in The Green Sector such as solar and wind.  But there is also Heavy Equipment and even Mom and Pop.  One reason to come to the US is the inevitable rise of the Yuan which will significantly reduce China’s export advantage.  So, they are coming here.  One Chinese Manufacturer told me that almost everything for him, from Electricity for his factor to fuel for his family car was cheaper in South Carolina than Zhejiang Province.  “Only Starbucks is the same price,” he stated.  This is money and investment coming, but it will bring families, and families will need housing.  Advice for those of you in Real Estate:  Become Chinese friendly.  The Chinese purchase things, including Real Estate, from their friends.  This is called “Guanxi” in Chinese.  Develop some “Guanxi” when the Chinese come to your community and office and you may have a client and more clients for life.
